Gavin McLaughlin from the Dundalk Democrat was John’s guest on the Sports Academy. Gavin gave us descriptions of the stadium, the atmosphere at the match and the accompanying football talk and opinions of the travelling support.

In the second half of the show Dundak FC’s General Manager Martin Connolly joined the discussion and gave very important advice for everyone attending the return leg in Oriel Park on Wednesday 22nd July.

Tony Martin was Eileen Corcoran’s guest on the Arts and Culture Show on Saturday 11th July 2015. Tony shared his knowledge about Eoin O’Duffy and the 700 Irish Blue-shirts who went to support General Franco as part of the International Brigade in 1936.

Tony talks about people local to Dundalk who joined O’Duffy including Charlie Donnolly who arrived in Spain on the 7th January 1937. Charlie was a poet, a philosopher and a soldier from Dungannon and Dundalk. 7 people went out 6 died. Andrew Delayney Carlingford, Albert McIlroy possibly from Blackrock, Francis Duffy O’Brien, Alexander Madero, Union Street, John McAleenan, Sheeptown Newry and Archibald Lester Doran, Ardee.

There will be a Commemorative Walk in Omeath on 25th July
