This is National Volunteer Week and as a community and voluntary organisation Dundalk FM would like to send their support and well wishes to all the volunteers in Dundalk and surrounding areas that give up their time to give something back to the community.
In Ireland, each week there are over 2,000 volunteer broadcasters on 43 community radio stations.
You can find about the community radio movement in the country by logging on to craol.ie that’s the Community Radio Forum of Ireland which was set up to promote the non profit radio sector and lobby for more community radio stations in the country.
All these stations are run and owned by their local community – for their local community.
Here at Dundalk FM, we would like to hear from Community Groups whose members would like to apply to do their own weekly or monthly show.
If there is a Community Event taking place this summer let us know so we can publicise it on our Community Notice Board for FREE and with your help we can do a LIVE Outside Broadcast.
We have ongoing vacancies as researchers, presenters, producers and sound desk operators and full training is provided. Our annual membership fee is €30.
